SOUTH REND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION— IVY TOWER FACILITY RENOVATION PROJECT <br />Proposal for Environmental services <br />was retained by the Dunkirk Development Corporation to support the re- development of a large <br />turn -of- the - century manufacturing facility. Prior to joining Weaver Boos, Mr. Dorgan was an <br />Office Director for a national environmental consulting firm. <br />Edward B. Stefanek <br />Mr. Stefanek will oversee the preparation of the bid documents and environmental <br />characterization of the site during the preliminary phase of the project and for any environmental <br />issues that arise during the abatement/renovation phases of the project. Mr. Stefanek is a Project <br />Manager with Weaver Boos and has more than 20 years of environmental project experience. <br />During that time, Mr. Stefanek has been involved in all aspects of project implementation <br />including technical and project management services. He has successfully completed numerous <br />projects related to remedial site investigations and cleanups, Brownfield redevelopment, multi- <br />phase environmental site assessments, geotechnical site investigations, wetland determinations <br />and delineations, asbestos inspections, and underground storage tank removal, assessments, and <br />closures. In addition, he has prepared several state - approved wellhead protection plans for <br />several municipalities. In the process of preparing these wellhead protection plans, Mr. Stefanek <br />facilitated public involvement through door -to -door and telephone interviews and surveys, in <br />addition to a series of public meetings. Since 1993, Mr. Stefanek has performed several multi- <br />phase environmental site assessments, asbestos inspections, remedial site investigations and <br />cleanups, managed the redevelopment of abandoned Brownfields, and provided general <br />environmental oversight services to Aldi, Incorporated at more than sixty locations in Michigan, <br />Indiana, and northeast Illinois (Cook and Will Counties). These oversight services were <br />provided before and during construction/demolition activities. Recently, Mr. Stefanek served as <br />a project manager for Brownfield redevelopment projects for the City of South Bend (AJW <br />Distribution Warehouse, Studebaker Area A Demolition Phases I and III) and the City of Elkhart <br />(Indiana Avenue Railroad Underpass), The City of Elkhart Project included Phase I and II ESAs <br />of tbree former gasoline filling stations. Prior to joining Weaver Boos, Mr. Stefanek was a <br />Project Manager for a regional environmental consulting firm located in Michigan. <br />4.3 Proposed Subcontractors <br />Weaver Boos anticipates subcontracting selected portions of the work to the following firms who <br />will provide analytical services; <br />Microbac Laboratories <br />Weaver,Bow Cowrsuhaws, UC <br />4085 Me&- ii Beeler Court <br />South Bend, IN 46628 <br />
