Manuals: Vendor to supply two parts, service, and operator's manuals for the body as well as two repair manuals or software for the chassis repairs. Training: Vendor to supply up to 16 hours training for operators. Vendor shall also supply up to 16 hours of training at Central Services for Technicians and supply any necessary training materials. Warranty: One full year complete unit. Engine and drive train extended warranties as specified. Hydraulic cylinders and pumps to be warranted for five (5) full years. Body to be warranted for one (1) full year. Successful bidder is responsible for all warranty repairs. Vendor to state nearest warranty dealer. If travel outside the City of South Bend is required for warranty repairs, transportation of the unit is the responsibility of the successful bidder. Transportation must take place within the next normal working day or the responsible party will be charged $100 per day late fee. Performance Evaluation: Each bidder should be prepared to provide the City with a unit for evaluation within 10 days of bid opening. A performance evaluation will be conducted by a team of City employees. Performance as determined by the City will be used to decide if the unit bid is responsive to the needs of the City of South Bend. The City of South Bend reserves the right to have a representative from an outside agency attend the performance evaluations. The results of these performance evaluations will be used to determine if the unit bid meets the minimum performance standards of the City of South Bend. The evaluation results are the property of the City of South Bend and cannot be used by anyone other than City employees for evaluation purposes. Quantity: One (1) or more. Alternates: Alternate 1: Auto lube system to include chassis and body. Must come with pump or other means to refill. Alternate 2: Complete graphics package to duplicate City's latest design including high quality material and installation. Alternate 3: Installation of Routeware system provided by the City of South Bend. Price Guarantee: The successful bidder shall guarantee the bid price for a minimum of 12 months to the City of South Bend. The City reserves the right to purchase up to four (4) additional units at this price within 12 months of bid award.
