Murray Miller, 23690 Western Avenue, South Bend, IN, asked if the $500,000 of paving was going to be bid out. Mr. Horvath confirmed that it would be bid out because the City paving crew has a threshold of how much they can do every season. Committeemember Niezgodski made a motion to send Bill No. 08-20 to the full Council with a favorable recommendation. Committeemember Teshka seconded the motion which carried by voice vote of four(4) ayes. Bill No. 09-20- Amendment to Ordinance No. 10685-19, Non-Bargaining Salary Ordinance Dan Parker, City Controller for the City of South Bend with offices located on the 12th floor of the County-City Building, South Bend, IN, served as the presenter for this bill. Mr. Parker gave a presentation referencing a PowerPoint presentation(which is available in the City Clerk's Office) that highlighted the key elements of this bill as well as information coming for future changes. Committee Chair White opened the floor to questions and comments from Committee and Council Members. Committeemember Teshka inquired about the job qualifications for the new position. Michael Patton, Diversity and Inclusion Officer for the City of South Bend with offices located on the 14th floor of the County-City Building, South Bend, IN,replied that the City is looking forward someone with a background in detail, that is very organized, has a four (4) year degree, and can handle numbers and figures. Kyra Clark, Director of Human Resources for the City of South Bend with offices located on the 12th floor of the County-City Building, South Bend, IN, stated the job description is part of the packet.
