Public Relations & Community Education Committee <br />Southhold Preservation Awards Meeting <br />11.12.16 <br />Recommendations to the Historic Preservation Commission <br />of South Bend & St. Joseph County <br />A public meeting of the PR&CE committee was held on October 12-, 2016 at the HPC <br />offices to discuss nominations for the bi-annual Southhold Preservation Awards. <br />Nominations were sought from the public via press releases sent on 9.1.16 and 9.28.16. <br />The committee sustained a quorum and voted unanimously on the following <br />recommendations: <br />let <br />homes. <br />0 <br />1. Historic Preservation Commercial <br />The Ward House — Blackburn & Green, owner, <br />formerly located at Cleveland & Gumwood, <br />Mishawaka, moved to 1443 University Drive Court, <br />Granger. <br />Justification: This county landmark was physically <br />relocated in order to insure its survival. <br />2. Historic Preservation Residential <br />Cutter House - 916 Riverside Drive, SB, owner: Dr. <br />David Wyncott & Andy Hoffman <br />Justification: This house has undergone major <br />renovation to preserve the historical value of the <br />structure and site. This is the primary structure visible <br />at the entrance to Chapin subdivision. The restoration <br />will increase interest and value of the surrounding <br />3. Historic Restoration Commercial <br />LaSalle Bank, 526 E. LaSalle Ave. SB, owner: <br />Buccellato Design, LLC <br />Justification: Considerable and sensitive exterior <br />restoration has been done to re-establish this beautiful <br />building's relationship to the street and its place within <br />the context of its neighborhood. Extensive work was <br />done on the interior as well to restore the original <br />plaster detailing and skylights. <br />
