Historic Restoration Residential <br />The Marx Building, 728-736 Portage Ave. SB, owner: <br />Mag Mile Properties, LLC <br />Justification: The restoration of the Marx Building <br />defined an area on Portage Ave., increased property <br />values, and established a graduate student community <br />in the NNN. <br />S. Adaptive Re -Use <br />The General, 609 E. Jefferson Blvd. SB, owners: Paul <br />Kuharic & John Barany <br />Justification: The General has brought a much-needed <br />service to the East Bank creating a destination, helping <br />to build a neighborhood, and fostering community while <br />preserving what could become a local landmark. <br />Budget: <br />The PR&CE committee recommends the Commission approve a budget not to exceed <br />$500 to support the event.
