Would prefer to propose an alternate proposal in keeping with staff recommendation — separating the porches from the house itself. Not willing to deny the application outright. Commissioner Voll (NAY) - Porte Cochere and porch are probably OK, given some idea of alternative materials. Complete copper roof on the house should not be approved without further exploration. Commissioner Klusczinski (AYE) - unsupported stylistic changes. Not in keeping with group B standards for the material evidence present on the structure. Applicant not present. Commissioner Hertel (AYE) - confusion of verbiage in application vs. quote, inability to question owner about other potential ideas, and the copper roof not being in character with the time frame. Vote: 6 — 2 COA#2016-1018 Denied. M. HEARING OF VISITORS A. Tim Janowiak, Studebaker Driver's Club — presented plan for reassembly and incorporation of Studebaker Guard House, pillars, and gates into Building 84 Complex after being disassembled and spending many years in storage. Plans are to make the site accessible to the public, possibly as a location to start tours. Preliminary plans are to unveil Guard House in May 2017, at the International Studebaker Convention in South Bend. Asked for HPC blessing on project. Discussion. President Klusczinski gave preliminary HPC endorsement, and asked for support of Studebaker Driver's Club for future landmarking of Guard House. IV. REGULAR BUSINESS A. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1.
