Director's Report <br />September 2015 <br />17 August Meeting with Staff and Scott Sneff of Lows (SJCo IT) to learn the new on line system for <br />purchasing. Discussion with Blake Strethling new owner of 610 N. St. Joseph about the repairs needed and <br />the procedures to follow. Received news that North Liberty was awarded the Stellar Community that they <br />have been working so hard for and that HPC helped partner. Completed one 106 Environmental Review. <br />Submitted retirement letter to HR due before month's end. HPC meeting. <br />18 August Contacted Tim Johnson concerning the window issues. Prepared approved COAs for <br />mailing. <br />20 August Calculated number of 1932 Assessor Cards for digitization project with the Brownfield's <br />Grant. Began the reconciliation of the 911 HP LL and LHC data dump for GIS from the tax system for <br />errors and omissions. Presented the Treasurer's reportat the BSSB 4:30. Attended the reception at Bond <br />Hall at 6:00. Met with Dean Lychodas, Steve Semes. Steve is going to be in charge of the HP programs <br />and would like me on his committee. <br />21 August - Continued with the reconciliation. On site meeting with Frank Perri at JC Lauber. Sent <br />info he requested. Noted 6 exceptions in the listing left at 7:00 pm. Off until 27 August. <br />27 August Discussion with Frank Perri concerning the JC Lauber building and its addition. He would <br />like to change the pitch of the roof on the addition (addition is connected by two double garage doors in a <br />vacated alleyvvay); concerned about the additional load and is contacting Ken Miller, an engineer in Niles. <br />Thea from public works called and one of the demo crews found a circa 1860s tombstone in a yard on King <br />Street—think it may be stolen from City Cemetery. They will drop it off and we will work with Park's Steve <br />Nemeth and the History Museum. <br />28 August Spoke with Don at Ritschard Bros. 288 4777 and picked up Julian Kizer's 1861 tombstone <br />that was in very good condition. Don gave me some research that their staff did and I continued that all day <br />on Friday. There were no records of this 11 year old or his parents at City, Highland or Riverview. They <br />lived in German township and were Methodists and had a large farm near Portage Chapel. <br />31 August Continued research on-line. E-mailed German Township Trustees who do have some <br />burial records for the various small Cemeteries. Drove to Northwest United Methodist on Brick Road and <br />spoke with two parishioners who indicated that Portage Chapel is Portage Prairie Cemetery on Orange and <br />Bertrand. They have my card and will contact Jim Kizer, another parishioner and possible relation to the <br />1860s Kizer, to see if he has any clues. Tim Johnson finally contacted the Office about the windows. Gave <br />him the same information that I gave him after the meeting. He is going to contact Bee Windows. Turned <br />in all fees and performed General Office work. Responded to inquiry from Bethany Natalie of Weintraut <br />Inc for the 106 Review on the Round About with information on the Harris I School on Brick Road, sent <br />her scans of the landmark's file on the restoration after the massive fire. <br />1 September General Office work. Steve and I met with Tim Johnson at 307 LaMonte. The Bee <br />Window rep did not show up. Followed up with DCI about check; Lory overlooked e-mail from July, we <br />
