Assistant Director's Resort HPC Meetina 10.18.2011 <br />1. Local Landmarks - <br />a. 317 W Washington Central High Apartments -Tour property inside and outside to check out <br />=ig and small auditoriums, made observations on re -pointing, door repairs, tree trimming, and <br />window lintel repair projects. Contact Brent Thompson, City Forester regarding trees touching VOC <br />building on southeast side near parking lot. Correspondence with John Hendershot regarding trees. <br />Correspondence with a representative of the Redevelopment Commission regarding who owns the <br />lot and property. <br />b. Marquette School -Correspondence with Chuck and Jim of the Building Department <br />regarding the application for a permit to demolish the structure. Reviewing files. Meeting with Todd Z <br />and Tim K at Indiana Landmarks. Researching and working on stuff. Attend Executive Session of the <br />Commission, reviewing Resolution, attending Special meeting. Prepare meeting minutes. Forward <br />requested agenda via fax. <br />c. Correspondence with Eric Boyd of Alfred Mortuary regarding the Thomas Street Firehouse. <br />Mr. Boyd also called about another property at 1105 Elmer. <br />2. Local Historic Districts -Designing a magnet for owners in LHD and LL to be ordered at the end of the <br />year. Researching companies and pricing for approximately 1000 quantity. <br />3. Staff Reports - <br />a. none <br />4. Routine Maintenance Exclusions - <br />a. 317 West Washington Central High Apartments <br />b. 1322 Lincolnway East <br />�. National Register of Historic Places - <br />a. City Cemetery - <br />b. Marquette School -Prepare statement for School Board meeting supporting Nomination. <br />Attend meeting of the School Board, offering a statement in support of the nomination. Follow up on <br />local media reports. Develop PR for historic preservation news. Prepare cover letter for Dr. Schmidt of <br />SBCSC and deliver to offices on St. Joseph Street. <br />c. Haven Hubbard Home -Updating Kurt on progress. <br />d. Congregation Sons of Israel Synagogue -Correspondence with Kurt regarding Owners <br />Consent. Updating Owners Authorization form. Attending Redevelopment Commission meeting <br />regarding the Owners Authorization form (0.5). Forwarding photos and previously started nomination <br />to Kurt (0.5). Working with Kurt at the HPC Office to research the file (1.0). <br />6. Attend 09.19.2011 HPC meeting, prepare draft of minutes and forward to Commissioners. Revise <br />as requested. Print minutes from September meeting for October meeting. Print commissioner and <br />liaison mailing labels. Prepare RMEs for packets. Adding agenda to HPC webpage. <br />7. Restore Michiana Series 2011- <br />a. Updating www.RestoreMichiana.com website. <br />b. House Detectives -Printing promo rack cards and post cards to deliver to downtown SB <br />businesses. Email PR to 40 media contacts. Invitation emailed to 1,700 people. Taking registrations. <br />Correspondence with Cliff regarding a follow up survey. Correspondence with Todd and Cliff <br />9egarding a door prize and details of event day. Preparing handouts and brochures to take. Attend <br />rogram. Reviewing Cliff's summary and report on surveys submitted. <br />
