The extensive delays from then until <br />now were the result of having to identify, contact, and verify involvement <br />and ownership of numerous utility lines and conduits in or very near the <br />bridge. (Bridges that are this old in urban locations tend to have many <br />11surprises"; utility lines that no one knows what they are, if they are <br />active, and who /sthe owner./ Last month, xvDO/ was finally able "^get <br />the conflicts resolved and now has the project ontheJanuary18.2O06 <br />letting. Since the work will not becompleted bythe time the two year <br />extension expires, | request anadditional extension ofthe Certificate of <br />Appropriateness.
