Alternative G then follows Juniper or Ironwood Roads north. Option G then curves to the west just south
of Roosevelt Road. Option G would possibly hook into the existing path of US 31 between Roosevelt and
Kern Roads. This alternative would also impact several other historic structures including:
11042
18681 Osborne Road
Juliana Schafer Farmhouse
S/12
StV
c. 1875
11041
65620 Oak Road
Residence
C/10
V
c. 1890
08021
62951 Miami Road
Residence
S/11
V
c. 1870
08020
62485 Miami Road
Residence
S/11
V
c. 1900
08036L
63049 Turkey Trail
Francis Donahue Farmhouse & Barn
0/13 L
It
1861
08030L
19251 Roosevelt Road George Schafer
S/12 L
QA
1908
A small pocket of historic buildings along Turkey Trail in Centre Township would also be affected by the
construction of a new alignment of US 31 through the area.
Turkev Trail Concentration
Old Survey New Survey
Number
Number Rating
Address
08033
S/11
62601 Turkey Trail
08034
C/10
62600 Turkey Trail
08035
141-694-70039 C/10
62919 Turkey Trail
08036L 141-694-70038 0/13 L 63049 Turkey Trail
08020
S/11
62485 Miami Road
Residence
141-694-70028
62485 Miami Road
08021
S/11
62951 Miami Road
08019L
141-694-70027 0/13 L
62290 Miami Road
08030L
S/12 L
19251 Roosevelt Road
Farmhouse & Barn
141-694-70029 C/10
19250 Roosevelt Road
08024
C/10
19940 Miller Road
Title
Style
Year
Residence
V
c. 1900
Barn
Agri
c. 1890
Residence
V
c.1890
Francis Donahue
Farmhouse & Barn
It
1861
Residence
V
c. 1900
Barn, gambrel roof
c. 1910
Residence
V
c. 1870
George Schafer
Farmhouse & Barn
QA
1908
George Schafer
QA
1908
Barn
Agri
c. 1910
Residence
V
1890
Staff finds that Alternative G is less appealing than Alternative C, E, and F because the route:
1. May impact two or three landmarks,
2. threatens to affect a concentration of structures along Turkey Trail and adjacent roads,
3. as well as several other historic structures in Union and Centre Townships,
4. And moves the freeway off the current path and through rural areas, which will cause
the possible dispersal of development from the current commercial corridor along US 31.
