Standards & Maintenance <br />Mr. Fine indicated that he had no report but that he would need to schedule a <br />meeting in the near future to consider the COAs referred from this meeting. <br />E. Staff Reports <br />1. Mr. Duvall reported Staff approval of a COA for: <br />1309 East Wayne Street - roofing replacement <br />2. There was no legal report. <br />3. DHPA Grants <br />Mr. Duvall reported that the DHPA had granted an extension of one month for <br />the 1996-1997 projects due to schedule delays which were the fault of the <br />SHPO. He indicated that the RFPs for the 1997-1998 work had not yet been <br />prepared. <br />4. Mr. Duvall reported that a DNR floodway-permit application had been filed <br />for the Blake Gardens site but as of yet no Army Corps of Engineers hearing <br />has been scheduled. <br />V. There was no old business <br />VI. New Business <br />A-1) There was a first reading of the recommendation to declare the building <br />being moved.from 828 East Jefferson to 216 S. St. Louis as.a Local Landmark. <br />Mr. Duvall noted that this move was complicating the boundary considerations <br />of the Howard Park District nomination. Mr, Oxian added that Staff was trying <br />to assist the new owner in difficulties with the zoning of the intended site <br />to facilitate the move. <br />VII. Hearing of Visitors <br />Mr. Don 'tporleder addressed the commission regarding the feasibility and <br />desirability of restoring the roadway beneath the North Michigan Street Bridge <br />in Leeper Park -for use by cyclists and pedestrians. Mr. Duvall noted that this <br />should be included in the Historic Preservation Plan for which grant funding <br />has been secured for the coming year. <br />Mr. Oxian noted that a COA application fro restoration of windows at the North <br />Pumping Station is anticipated and that he will abstain from voting this issue <br />at the Water Works Board t assert his views at the HPC. <br />Hearing no more business, Mr. Oxian adjourned the meeting at 9:30 p.m. <br />page 6 <br />
