1-1,y 15, 1978 <br />Page 2 <br />578 4. Treasurer's Report <br />Mars. Ruth Price made a motion to have the Treasurer's Report <br />accepted. Mr. Oxian seconded its and it passed unanimously. <br />578 5. Correspondence <br />Ms. Peck mentioned a letter from I'.[r. Wasielewski to Joseph <br />Cloud, accepting the $12,000.00 grant from the Department of Interior <br />to help complete the architectural and historical survey, of the City <br />of South Bend. <br />Another letter written to Dick Gantz asked if the Co -=d ssion <br />could match the:12,000.00 with Community Development Block Grant <br />funds, and 11r. Gantz replied in the affirmative. <br />Ms. Peck then mentioned. a letter from a person in charge of <br />the National Trust's annual meeting, in Chicago, regretting that they <br />would be unable to include a tour of St. Joseph County, but would like <br />the Commission to provide complementary literature for the Znfoxmation <br />and Hospitality Room at the Drake Hotel. <br />Ids. Peck sent a letter regarding the Philip Johnson article <br />in the last "Preservation News" to Mayor Peter J. Nemeth, who then <br />wrote a thank you note about it. <br />578 6. Comrittee Reports <br />City Survey <br />Mrs. Price said there was some disagreement as to the committee <br />report compared to what actually happened at the committee meeting.as <br />far as the conditions of the survey work to be completed by Cruiaish/ <br />Sporleder: <br />Mrs. Price ex-olained the comirlittee had agreed that all superior <br />structures in the city limits, 12's and 13's, are to be mapped and a <br />survey card, including a photograph and history, prepared on each. <br />In addition, those structures in the city which are pre-I�VII are to <br />have 10 and 11 cards, including a photograph, developed on them. <br />I.Irs. Price moved that we enter into agreement with Crumlish/Sporleder <br />to facilitate this contract for their cost of $16,500, she also stated <br />that if these terms were not those agreed on at the committee meeting <br />with PQr. Crumlish, the committee would come back to the Cot:r_dsSion to <br />renegotiate. 'rs. Price then withdrew her motion and made a .neva motion. <br />It stated that we propose to enter into a contract with C.rtuLlish/ <br />Sporleder, based on $20,000.00, and that we write it up, and we pose the <br />question to the Mayor, stating that in order to complete the city survey, <br />in line with the state's agreement, we need the $8,000.00, and ask for <br />a response at that point. <br />An amendment was added to the motion stating that the Committee <br />will write up a history and -proposals for the city survey which shall be <br />presented to the Mayor before the next -,meting. '•r. Oxian seconded the <br />motion with the addition of the amendment. I,btion passed unanit,iously. <br />
