AFPN
South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting - December 17, 1993
6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.)
Commission approval requested for Proposal
from Ken Herceg & Associates for
Professional Services in the South Bend
Central Development Area. (State Theater)
Mrs. Kolata noted that before the
Commission sold the State Theater we had
hired Ken Herceg to design a fire escape.
The owner would like a different design and
we have asked Ken Herceg to submit a
proposal for the additional work and make
several inspections during installation. The
total fee would not exceed $5,000. The staff
recommends accepting the proposal.
Upon a motion by Mr. Piasecki, seconded by
Mr. Sharp and unanimously carried, the
Commission approved the Proposal from Ken
Herceg & Associates in an amount not to
exceed $5,000 for professional services
related to the redesign of a fire escape for the
State Theater.
k. Commission approval requested for Easement
for Indiana Michigan Power Company related
to Stephenson Mill Apartments in the South
Bend Central Development Area.
Mrs. Kolata explained that this easement will
allow I & M to hook up electricity to the
building. The Commission retained
ownership of the surrounding property when
the Alexander Company bought the Opelika
Building. So the easement would cross
Commission property.
-16-
COMMISSION APPROVED THE PROPOSAL
FROM KEN HERCEG & ASSOCIATES IN AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $5,000 FOR
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES RELATED TO THE
REDESIGN OF A FIRE ESCAPE FOR THE
STATE THEATER
