Vtat you're hearing tonight is a piresentation of the Plan that has been developed by the neighborhood group. 's is somewhat contrary to what we have ever done in the past. In the past, it's been Redevelopment's staff tl7at has developed the Plan, or consultants to the Redevelopment staff tl7at have developed plans. We've had irput, and we like to pride ourselves on e fact that we ask for input. But is is really the first time that we have served as staff to a neighborhood and tried to expedite some of the discussions and some of the paperwork. It really is a neighborhood plan that is being presented here today. The Redevelopment Commission is listening to everythintj that is being said and has not made a decision one way or another hc &T they are going to proceed. If they ch Dose to follow the Plan and the r tions for acquiring property if they do do that, that means that th y are not only accepting the ticns to acquire property, but to relocate whoever is there, whether it be a homeowner or a business that's in that property, and then to demolish the building. There's two things that need to be talked about. one is the process that they would have to go through. They can not amend their Plan to add properties to the list of property to be acTAred without having a number of thLrxgs done: survey work, title work, ani appraisals of the property. So, if tha Commission were to go ahead and a rove of the Plan that is presented h this evening, that would probably be I the next step. Not that they would of icially adopt the Plan, but that they -44-
