Road Reconstruction of Olive Street <br />FROM PRAIRIE AVENUE TO TUCKER DRIVE <br />RELEVANT PROJECT EXPERIENCE <br />10 PH 'R. E E' IIRECONs i ituc rION <br />MIND W111DIIENING <br />CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA <br />This project included the reconstruction and widening <br />of 10th Street in Jeffersonville from four to five lanes. <br />The fifth lane was turned into a center turn lane. The <br />improvements extended from Dutch Lane/Penn Street to <br />Reeds Lane along 10th Street. <br />UNITED performed the construction inspection which <br />included the installation of new curb and gutter, storm <br />sewer system, sanitary sewer, retaining walls, new <br />pedestrian -friendly and aesthetically pleasing sidewalks <br />on both sides of the road, new ADA-accessible curb ramps, <br />drive approaches, four new intersections with decorative <br />traffic signals, decorative street lighting, and signage. <br />Special attention had to be given to maintain the high <br />volume of pedestrian traffic on this major thoroughfare <br />throughout the duration of the project. <br />NSTI TI COST: $15 million <br />E NUE III F DWIDG E AND <br />ItOU11HDABOUT <br />TOWN OF AVON, INDIANA <br />UNITED provided limited plan review, construction <br />management, and inspection services for this locally - <br />funded project featuring the following items: <br />➢ Two-lane bridge over CSX Railway <br />➢ Roundabout configuration at Avon Avenue and CR 25 S <br />➢ 3/4 a mile of new concrete pavement <br />➢ Sidewalks and ADA-accessible ramps <br />➢ 879 feet of MSE retaining wall <br />➢ New turn lane and signal modification at US 36 <br />The bridge, roundabout, and mainline pavement were <br />constructed and open to traffic in just under eight months, <br />thanks to an acceleration initiative implemented by the <br />Town. Project challenges included constructing the <br />south end of the project under traffic and maintaining <br />access to residents, businesses, and Avon Schools during <br />construction throughout the project limits.
