ARTICLE VI <br />EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY <br />Section 1. As used in this document, the terms "he", "his", or similar masculine pronouns <br />shall be construed to include the feminine alternatives of such pronouns. Such terms are <br />used solely for grammatical purposes and shall not be construed to limit this contract or <br />its application on the basis of sex, race, national origin or any other classifications. <br />Section 2. The Employer will not discriminate in hiring of Employees and will conform <br />to laws with respect to hiring. <br />Section 3. It is a condition of this Agreement, agreed to by both the Union and the <br />Employer, to provide equal opportunity in employment for all qualified persons and to <br />prohibit unlawful discrimination in employment because of race, religion, age, sex, <br />disabilities, veteran status, color or national origin. There shall be full compliance with <br />all applicable Federal and State statutes, regulations, rules and orders of appropriate <br />Federal or State agencies having jurisdiction over the subject matter of discrimination in <br />employment. <br />Section 4. The Union and the Employer shall fully comply with all the requirements <br />contained in Executive Orders and will comply with all rulings promulgated by the <br />Committee on Equal Opportunity established thereunder. The Union agrees to furnish the <br />Employer at his request any statement or data required by any Executive Order. <br />ARTICLE VII <br />SELECTION OF <br />LABOR -EMPLOYMENT REGULATIONS <br />Section 1. (a) In employment, no applicant shall be discriminated against for membership <br />or non -membership in the Union. When the Employer has requested the Union to furnish <br />Employees for a job, such Employees shall be referred by the Union on a non- <br />discriminatory basis along with the union referral rules that all fully comply with all <br />applicable federal and state laws. <br />(b) The Employer retains the right to reject any applicant whether furnished by the <br />Union or not, and further the Employer shall have the right to determine the competency <br />and qualifications of his Employees and the right to discharge for just cause. <br />11 <br />
