b. Refer to Exhibit A, Part 1 e of Contract Amendment No. 1 and replace information as <br />follows: <br />e) Geotechnical Services <br />a. A subsurface investigation and geotechnical recommendations are needed for the <br />construction of a proposed sidewalk/pedestrian trail and pedestrian boardwalk. The <br />CONSULTANT shall make or cause to be made a complete geotechnical investigation in <br />accordance with the INDOT 2016 Geotechnical Manual. The CONSULTANT shall <br />perform the following tasks: <br />i. Investigate the subsurface soil and groundwater conditions at the site by drilling <br />exploratory test borings. Nine (9) soil borings with SPT along the sidewalk and <br />Three (3) soil borings with SPT within the limits of the proposed boardwalk shall <br />be drilled adjacent to the boardwalk alignment offset near the top of the existing <br />slope. These soil borings will range in depth from approximately 60 feet to 70 <br />feet. , <br />ii. Prior to commencement of drilling, the CONSULTANT shall contact the local <br />utility companies so that they may provide clearing of underground utilities. <br />Thus, utilities shall be cleared to the best of the CONSULTANT's knowledge. <br />iii. Perform laboratory testing to determine the classification, strength, <br />compressibility, and other characteristics of the foundation materials, as <br />necessary. <br />iv. Perform an engineering analysis in the formulation of geotechnical design <br />recommendations. <br />v. Prepare a written report documenting the results of the geotechnical <br />investigation, including recommendations and substantiating data. <br />�Ii. Geotechnical investigation shall be completed during the construction of South <br />Bend Project 117-055A. No maintenance of traffic specifically for the <br />geotechnical investigation is anticipated. <br />c. Refer to Exhibit C 1 and eliminate the following item: <br />i. C2.01, A, lg. Appraisal Problem Analysis (45 parcels @ $250 each) <br />For the Additional Services or the modifications to services set forth above, Owner shall Pay <br />Engineer the following additional or modified compensation: <br />A. Additional $5,000.00 not to exceed for Utility Coordination subject to hourly rates <br />B. Additional $3,000.00 not to exceed for Railroad Coordination subject to hourly rates <br />C. Additional $2,900.00 for amended geotechnical engineering fee <br />D.
