NOTRE DAME <br />Brett Rocheleau stated that Communiversity Day was a great success. Tim Sexton <br />stated that they were excited that the university had a new collaboration with St. Joseph <br />County Council and particularly St. Pat's Park. There are plans for 3 buildings and <br />ponds that students will use for research. Phase I will begin on May 21, 2012 with a <br />groundbreaking. <br />INDIANA UNIVERISTY MEDICAL SCHOOL <br />Gail Mancini stated that lots of good things were going on at the medical school <br />especially with cancer research. <br />IVY TECH <br />Tracie Davis stated that May 4th is graduation. Also there an event titled "Leveling the <br />Playing Field" with Congressman Joe Donnelly scheduled. Tim Sexton complimented <br />their culinary arts students for their recent dinner which was great. <br />NEIGHBORHOODS <br />Marguerite Taylor stated that the Blue -Gold game on April 21, 2012, in the Colfax <br />Avenue area was tolerable. The noise was gone by 11 p.m., and the litter was cleaned <br />up promptly. <br />Mark Kramer stated that car break -ins were up in the last couple of weeks, especially <br />during the Blue -Gold game time. In addition, there were 4 larcenies as well. Sheriff <br />Grzegorek and ND Student Body Vice President Brett Rocheleau stated that empty <br />boxes from electronics and other types of larger purchases should not be put out by the <br />trash. Mark Kramer inquired of SBPD Uniform Division Chief Jeff Walters if they could <br />have a neighborhood watch within a complex. Officer Jeff Walters said yes and that <br />they should get a captain. <br />Alcoholic Beverage Board Member Mike Carrington reminded everyone that in summer <br />time there are often big parties and to keep in mind that local police and excise police <br />will be on patrol. Sheriff Grzegorek stated that he plans to meet with student <br />governments to make sure that students know the laws about drinking. Mike Carrington <br />stated that often at "student bars" where students use often fake ID's, the establishment <br />can be brought up before the Alcoholic Beverage Board and fined up to $1000. He <br />encouraged students to be safe and cooperative. He also stated that the Alcoholic <br />Beverage Commission meets every 4th Wednesday morning of the month in the Council <br />Chambers informal meeting room. <br />Sheriff Grzegorek stated that there has been a lot of noise in the Eddy Street Commons <br />area. He knows of a police officer who lives in the apartments. One bar in particular, <br />Brothers Bar is loud and wakes the residents. The bar's owners have met with the City <br />and police to address the issue. They have an outside seating area and music can be <br />2 <br />
