Area Board of Zoning Appeals--February 1, 2012
5
bridge and say Olive Street, the new railroad bridge on Olive Street. It's our contention that we're not going
to injury the public health or welfare. That we are offering what has been there in the past and has operated
sometime successfully in the past. It is now a re-use of what is a vacant building and we would ask the
Board, I would ask this Commission to send it favorably with a Favorable Recommendation to the Council.
MR. PHIPPS: Bruce, where are these supplemental parking space located?
.MR. HUNTINGTON: I believe, Mr. Phipps, that they are immediately across the street. Ms. O'Neal is here
and she can answer your question directly.
MS. O'NEAL: 1017 N, Meade St., South Bend, Indiana.
MR, PHIPPS: Okay, the last question ma'am was, and he referred, your attorney referred to you, is where are
the additional parking spaces?
MS. O'NEAL. It's two vacant houses and then it's a parking lot. It's right like on the corner of Jackson,
almost on the corner of Jackson it's a big field on the corner and then it's a small parking lot.
MR. URBANSKI: Okay, the parking lot is paved the other two lots are not paved, is that correct?
MS. O'NEAL: The parking is paved.
MR. URBANSKI: That's what I Just said, the parking lot is paved, the two lots on the corner of Jackson are
not?
MS. O'NEAL. No, it's not the corner of Jackson. It's a field on the corner of Jackson and then like over the
fence it's a parking lot right there and then it's two abandoned houses, then it's Brookfield Street.
MR, URANSKI: Right. So are you referring that parking lot that is paved?
MS. O'NEAL: Yes.
MR. URBANSKI: And there's 26 parking spaces...
MS. O'NEAL: Twenty two.
MR. URBANSKI: Twenty two, excuse me.
MR. PHIPPS: So the parking is essentially about a half block east of your building and it's on the same side
of Western?
MS. O'NEAL: Yes.
50
