South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting—June 14, 2011
6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.)
A. Public Hearings
(3) continued...
Mr. Varner questioned whether the Council
Resolution No. 4107-11 was the correct
number. Staff assured him that was the
number on the certified copy of the Council
resolution.
Ms. Jones opened the public hearing on PUBLIC'HEARING ON RESOLUTION No.2876
Resolution No. 2876 for anyone who wished
to be heard.
MR. JIM BOGNAR, 805 W. Washington St.:
My property is adjacent to 803 W.
Washington, and this October will have been
there for fifty years. The first question I
want to ask as you are as you were going
through clarification, I noticed on the agenda
6.A(3), when it notes a public hearing on the
resolution, it talks about the Airport
Economic Development Area. I believe that
should be the West Washington-Chapin
Development Area. (Staff agreed.) I don't
know whether that causes a problem with
anything else, but I wanted to note that. I'd
like to thank the Commission for their
education, and the Area Plan and the City
Council for their support. I'd also like to
thank Jeff Gibney for his work with this
particular property owner as there's been a
long history of this. I would also like to
thank Don Inks for his time and his energy.
There's been a lot of negativity in the press
and in a lot of areas lately. We have done a
lot of things right in this community. I'm
very privileged to be in the museum district,
Copshaholm (Mr. Oliver's house), the Center
17
