REGULAR MEETINGJUNE 27, 2005 <br />Mr. Phil St. Clair, Superintendent, Parks Department, 321 E. Walter Street, South Bend, <br />Indiana, made the presentation for this bill. <br />Mr. St. Clair advised that this bill is for an additional appropriation for Capital <br />Expenditures by the Parks Department. Because of the delays in receiving tax revenues <br />some departments like the Parks Department whose capital appropriations were <br />incomplete in January 2005. The requested appropriation of an additional $679,400 is for <br />various capital improvements, and the purchase of machinery and equipment. <br />This being the time heretofore set for the Public Hearing on the above bill, proponents <br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. <br />There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in <br />opposition to this bill, Councilmember Varner made a motion for favorable <br />recommendation to full Council concerning this bill. Councilmember Dieter seconded <br />the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes <br />. <br />BILL NO. 39-05 PUBLIC HEARING ON A BILL OF THE <br /> COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br /> BEND, INDIANA, CONCERNING THE <br /> CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVEMENTS TO <br /> THE MUNICIPAL WATERWORKS OF THE <br /> CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA; <br /> AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF REVENUE <br /> BONDS FOR SUCH PURPOSE IN THE <br /> PRINCIPAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FOUR <br /> MILLION SEVEN HUNDRED TEN THOUSAND <br /> DOLLARS (4,710,000); ADDRESSING OTHER <br /> MATTERS CONNECTED THEREWITH, <br /> INCLUDING THE ISSUANCE OF NOTES IN <br /> ANTICIPATION OF BONDS; AND REPEALING <br /> ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT HEREWITH <br />Councilmember Dieter made a motion to continue this bill until the July 25, 2005 <br />meeting of the Council.
