REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 25, 2006 <br />Whereas, the Incident Command System (ICS) components of NIMS are already <br />an integral part of various incident management throughout the city and county, including <br />current fire department and emergency management training programs; and <br />Whereas, the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks (9-11 Commission) <br />recommend the adoption of a standardized Incident Command System. <br />Now, Therefore, Be It Ordained by the Common Council of the City of South <br />Bend, Indiana, as follows: <br />Section I. The City of South Bend, Indiana, through its Common Council hereby adopts <br />and establishes the National Incident Management System (NIMS) as the city’s standard <br />for incident management <br />Section II A copy of this Resolution shall be sent to the Joint Anti-Terrorism Steering <br />Committee and to the Joint Anti-Terrorism Preparedness and Response Committee which <br />represent South Bend, Mishawaka and St. Joseph County. <br />Section III. The Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana believes that the <br />adoption of the foregoing resolution is in the best interests of the citizens of South Bend, <br />Indiana. <br />Section IV. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption <br />by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor. <br /> s/Timothy A.
