(xii) Open bottoms of porches are prohibited Porch bases must be <br /> continuously skirted with a painted wood lattice panel,masonry, or <br /> similar material to the primary building. <br /> (F) Lighting <br /> (i) Building lighting should be integrated into the design of the building <br /> and reflect the character of the neighborhood. <br /> (ii) Building lighting should be attached to the facade of the building. <br /> Floodlights and uplights on residential building facades are <br /> prohibited. <br /> (iii) Building lighting should minimize glare and light intrusion on <br /> adjacent properties. <br /> (iv) Building lighting should be soft white. Colored lights are <br /> prohibited unless for appropriate seasonal decoration or interest. <br /> (G) Mechanical Equipment and Utilities <br /> (i) Exposed mechanical equipment and utilities should be appropriately <br /> screened from view whenever possible. Locating utilities <br /> underground whenever possible is strongly recommended. <br /> (ii) Exposed mechanical equipment along primary and <br /> secondary street frontages is prohibited. <br /> (iii) Any rooftop mechanical equipment should be located in the center <br /> or rear corner of a building, away from the primary street <br /> elevation. <br /> (iv) Any rooftop mechanical equipment should be screened by the <br /> roof form. When the roof form cannot hide such equipment,a solid <br /> screen should be constructed of materials similar to those of the primary <br /> fagade. <br /> (v) Vents, gutters, downspouts, flashing, electrical conduit, and other <br /> appurtenances should be painted to match the adjacent surface <br /> unless being used expressly as an accent material such as copper <br /> flashing or gutters. <br /> (vi) Window-mounted air conditioning units placed facing primary or <br /> secondary street frontages are prohibited. <br /> (vii) Satellite television dishes must be located according to the <br /> provisions of this SBZO, in the most discreet location possible, <br /> 11 <br />
