South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting -June 18, 2010 <br />(3) Resolution N. 2696 related to acquisition <br />of property in the Airport Economic <br />Development Area (1510 S. Catalpa St.) <br />Mr. Relos noted that 1510 S. Catalpa Street <br />was added to the Airport Economic <br />Development Area Acquisition List on <br />May 21, 2010 with the intention to clear the <br />southern boundary of Ignition Park and to <br />help stabilize the Rum Village neighborhood <br />to the south. The Rum Village <br />Neighborhood Association strongly supports <br />the redevelopment of this area on the north <br />side of Indiana Ave. <br />1510 S. Catalpa is atwo-story, three <br />bedroom single family residence. The owner <br />contacted staff with an interest in selling. <br />Resolution No. 2696 sets the offering price at <br />$11,500, the average of two independent <br />appraisals. <br />Upon a motion by Ms. King, seconded by <br />Mr. Downes and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved Resolution N. 2696 <br />related to acquisition of property in the <br />Airport Economic Development Area (1510 <br />S. Catalpa St.) <br />(4) Resolution No. 2697 approving and <br />accepting a counter offer for the <br />acquisition of property in the Airport <br />Economic Development Area (1510 S. <br />Catalpa St.) <br />Mr. Relos noted that the owner of 1510 S. <br />Catalpa submitted a counter offer in the <br />amount of $15,000.
