South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting -June 18, 2010 <br />higher than the Commission's standard <br />limits. Mr. Relos noted that the first time he <br />requested proposals he only received one and <br />it was for $13,000. He went out again for <br />proposals and received these two. Staff <br />requests permission to hire David Waszak <br />Appraisals for a fee of $7,900 and Jerome E. <br />Michaels for a fee of $6,900. <br />Upon a motion by Ms. King, seconded by <br />Mr. Downes and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission accepted the proposals from <br />David Waszak and Jerome Michaels for the <br />scope of services and fee proposed. <br />(2) Resolution No. 2695 related to acquisition <br />of property in the Airport Economic <br />Development Area (1501 S. Taylor) <br />Mr. Relos noted that 1501 S. Taylor was <br />added to the Airport Economic Development <br />Area Acquisition List on May 21, 2010 with <br />the intention to clear the southern boundary <br />of Ignition Park and to help stabilize the Rum <br />Village neighborhood to the south. The Rum <br />Village~Neighborhood Association strongly <br />supports the redevelopment of this area on <br />the north side of Indiana Ave. <br />1501- Taylor is atwo-story, three bedroom <br />single family residence. The owner <br />contacted staff with an interest in selling. <br />Resolution No. 2695 sets the offering price at <br />$31,000, the average of two independent <br />appraisals. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Varner, seconded by <br />Mr. Downes and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved Resolution No. 2695 <br />related to acquisition of property in the <br />Airport Economic Development Area (1501 <br />S. Taylor) <br />COMMISSION ACCEPTED THE PROPOSALS FROM <br />DAVID WASZAK AND JEROME MICHAELS FOR <br />THE SCOPE OF SERVICES AND FEE PROPOSED <br />COMMISSION APPROVED RESOLUTION NO.2695 <br />RELATED TO ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY IN THE <br />AIRPORT ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AREA <br />(1501 S.
