REGULAR MEETING October 9, 2017 <br /> Shah can expand on that that doesn't include the cost of the building or a lot of other factors of <br /> them moving here. <br /> Vikram Shah, President of Tri-Pac, Inc., 17336 M-60,Vandalia, MI, served as the petitioner of <br /> this bill. Mr. Shah stated that his company employs forty (40)people, and that they are looking <br /> to grow. He stated that they work with global multinational corporations making consumer <br /> products and pharmaceutical products. <br /> This being the time heretofore set for the Public Hearing on the above bills,proponents and <br /> opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. <br /> There were none from the public wishing to speak in favor of or opposition to these bills. <br /> Councilmember Gavin Ferlic made a motion to adopt Bill No. 17-62. Councilmember Regina <br /> Williams-Preston seconded the motion which carried by a roll call vote of nine (9) ayes. <br /> Councilmember Randy Kelly made a motion to adopt Bill No. 17-66. Councilmember Karen <br /> White seconded the motion which carried by a roll call vote of nine (9) ayes. <br /> 17-64 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL <br /> OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br /> SUPPORTING THE INCLUSION OF THREE <br /> PROPERTIES WITHIN THE RIVER WEST <br /> DEVELOPMENT AREA(AIRPORT AREA), <br /> NAMELY: LEEPER PARK, THE MUSEUM <br /> CAMPUS, AND THE CITY CEMETERY <br /> Councilmember Gavin Ferlic, Chair of the Community Investment Committee, reported that they <br /> met this afternoon and send this bill forward with a favorable recommendation. <br /> Councilmember Oliver Davis, 1801 Nash Street, South Bend, IN, served as the presenter of this <br /> bill. Councilmember Davis stated that in 2014,the Department of Community Investment <br /> proposed a resolution to gather support for the City cemetery,the Center For History, and the <br /> Studebaker Museum and Leeper Park within the River West development area, and establish a <br /> timeframe in doing so. Broden, Chair of the Health and Public Safety Committee, reported that <br /> they met this afternoon and send this bill forward with a favorable recommendation. <br /> Councilmember Karen White made a motion to accept Substitute Bill No. 17-65 as amended. <br /> Councilmember John Voorde seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) <br /> ayes. <br /> 24 <br />
