�� Tuesday, June I7th., 1930. <br />NEW YORK CENTRAL RAILROAD COMPAIrf <br />(West of Buffs-16 <br />Illinois Division <br />Proposed Grade Separation <br />Walnut Street <br />South Bend, Indiana. <br />Specifications and estimate of cost of all vrork in connection with <br />the alteration and elevation of the tracks of the New York Central Eailroad Company <br />( Illinois Division) and the Grand Trunk Western Railroad Company, and the construction <br />of a subway at their intersect ion.with Walnut Street; except pavement, sidewalks, <br />dra-inage and appm ches, 'in compliance with Declaratory Resolution passed April I5th. <br />I930, requiring the filing. of plans, specifications and estimates under Modified <br />Resolution No.5. <br />The work to be done is indicated on the following plans: - <br />General Plan, Scale I" equals 501, dated May 249 1930. <br />General Bridge Plan, No.B-927I, dated June 2, 1930. P.1, June II,I930. <br />The work included in plans, specifications and estim<_tes prepared <br />by New York Central Rai lr oa d C ompa ny is as follows: <br />At the intersection of Walnut Street with the tracks of the New <br />York Central Railroad Company (Illinois Division) and the Grand Trunk Western Rail- <br />road Company, the tracks shall be raised nine (9) inches and the surface of Walnut <br />Street shall be depressed nine and ninety-five one -hundredths (9.95) feet below the <br />average level of said street at the ends of the existing pppmach grades as now main-- <br />twined; said depression at the lowest point shall not be lower than elevation forty- <br />eight and sixty six one hundredths (48.66) as expressed in the City of South Bend <br />datum and e levati on one hundred, thirty-three and eighty-seven one -hundredths (133.87) <br />as expressed in N. Y. C. R. R. datum. Bridge for eight tracks to be I-beam encased <br />in concrete supported on concrete- abutments at the street lines and concrete piers <br />at the curb lines providing 30 feet between curbs and two I5 foot sidewalk spaces, <br />with a minimum und-erelearance of 12 feet. Angle of crossing 66 261 43".. <br />Farris Street shall be closed to traffic across the tracks and <br />rights -of -way of the New York Central Railroad Company (Illinois Division) and the <br />Grand Trunk western Railroad Company. <br />The cost of all work included. in N. Y. C. R .
