<br />,Academy to provide proper control and disposal of storm waters. The Commissioner stated
<br />1!that following every heavy rain the City is put to the expense, of as much as 500.00, for:
<br />",the removal of sand and gravel deposited in the streets and gutters from such uncontrolled
<br />erosion. It was pointed out to the Board by Mr. Howard Noble-and;:Miss Virginie Guthrie,
<br />;present at the meeting, that St. Maryts is, as of this date, electing new management
<br />'.of this institution, and within a short time, the problem could be brought to the atten-
<br />,tion of the new Mothar Superior, with the likelihood of early action being taken in the
<br />• ,,;matter.
<br />The Board then read and ordered filed, letter, dated July 22nd,''of the Northern
<br />Indiana Transit, Inc., giving detailed information relative to their inability to comply
<br />'in furnishing bus service for the Lincoln Plaza Addition at this time.
<br />No advice having been received from 141r. Geo. Swiotowy in response to letter written
<br />I'Mr. Swiotowy, under date of July 13, the Clerk was directed to address a further letter
<br />requesting a report on the status of the Marion Trucking Companyts terminal.
<br />The Board next read a letter of commendation, over the signature of Charles E.
<br />Kingery,. dated June 22, 1955, and addressed to Ma-YwJohn A. Scott.
<br />• The Board next examined, approved and signed agreement arranged and recommended by
<br />Russell Oberlin, Realtor, between the City of South Bend and the officials of the Sinai
<br />Synagogue, in connection with the program for the widening of Eddy Street.
<br />The Board then examined a petition, which was found to pertain wholly to recreational'.,
<br />:facilities for Pulaski Park, and was, accordingly ordered to be forwarded to the Park
<br />Board.
<br />The time now being 10:00 A. M. C.S.T., it was so announced and the Board proceeded ,,with the opening of bids:
