, • <br />• <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />February 24, 1950 <br />March 3, 1950 <br />Notice is hereby given by the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South <br />Bend, Indiana, that it is deemed necessary to make the following described public improvement <br />in the City of South Bend, Indiana, authorized by the following numbered Improvement REsoI <br />lotions, passed by said Board on the 20th day of February, 1950. <br />Improvement Resolution No. 2601, 1950, for the improvement of WEST EWING AVENUE from <br />the west line of Franklin Street to the east line of Scott Street by constructing a Class <br />"B" Pavement - Types 1, 2, 3 and 4, AND <br />Improvement Resolution No. 2602, 1950, for the improvement of SOUTH WILLIAMS STREET <br />om the north line of Ewing Avenue to the south line of Calvert Street by constructing <br />Class "C" Pavement - Type 19 21 3 and 1-, AND <br />Improvement Resolution No. 2604, 1950, for the improvement of ALLEY BETWEEN MICHIGAN <br />STREET AND AMAIN STREET from the south line of Indiana Avenue to the north line of Dayton <br />Street by constructing an Alley Pavement - Types 1, 21 3 and 4, AND <br />Improvement Resolution No. 2605, 1950, for the Improvement of .ALLEY BETWEEN KE14BLE <br />VENUE AND DOUGLAS STREET from the north line of Bruce Street to the south line of Dubail <br />treet by constructing an Alley Pavement - Types 1, 27 3 and 4, AND <br />Improvement Resolution No. 2607, 1950, for the improvement of WEST DUNN STREET from <br />the west line of Scott Street to the east line of Chapin Street by constructing a Class <br />11C" Pavement - Types 1, 2, 3 and 4, AND <br />Improvement Resolution No. 2620, 1950, for the improvement of ALLEY BETWEEN MICHIGAN <br />STREET AND MAIN STREET from the south line of Sample Street to the north line of Gars-1, <br />Street by constructing an Alley Pavement - Types 1, 21 3 and <br />All work done in the making of said described public improvement shall be in accord-1 <br />ance with the terms and conditions of Improvement Resolution Numbers 2601, 2602, 2604, <br />2605, 2607 and 2620, 1950, adopted by the Board of Public Works and Safety on the above <br />named day, and the profiles, Drawings, Plans, General Details, Specifications and Estimat s <br />to be adopted by the Board of Public Works and Safety of such City, upon the final adop- <br />tion of said Resolutions and placed on file in the office of the Department of Engineerin <br />of said City. i <br />The Board of Public Works and Safety will meet in its office in the City Hall on the! <br />15th day of March, 1950 at the hour of 7:30 o t clock PAM-CST, for the purpose of hearing an <br />!considering all remonstrances, which may have been filed or which may be presented, and i <br />!will hear all persons interested or whose property is affected by said proposed improve- <br />ment, and will decide whether the benefit that will accrue to the property, abutting and <br />.adjacent to the proposed improvement and to said City, will be equal to or exceed the est _ <br />!mated cost of the proposed improvement as estimated by the City Civil Engineer. <br />R. Noble, Clerk <br />STREET DEPARTMENT:_ Mr. Melton Brannan, Street Commissioner, was present and matters per- <br />taining to his Department were discussed. <br />It was the decision of the Board to accept the following bids:for equipment for the <br />Street Department: Ben Medow Incorporated, 4 - 12 Ton Trucks at a total sum of $8,146,00 <br />Korte Brothers, one (1) .Austin Western Sweeper for the sum of $6,499,00; The Deeds Equip- <br />ment Company, one (1) Tractor for the sum of $4,090.00; and the Indiana Equipment Company <br />two (2) Graders for the total sum of $8,999.00. <br />CEMETERY DEPARTMENT: Mr. Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, was present and matters pertaining <br />To his Department were discussed. <br />,A..RKING METER DEPARTMENT: Mr. Maurice C.
