sewage, to meet the requirement of the State, Federal or other public <br />agencies of jurisdiction for such discharge to the receiving waters. <br />n. Any waters or wastes having a pH lower than 6.0, any waters or wastes <br />having a pH in excess of 11.0, or having any corrosive property capable of <br />causing damage or hazard to structures, equipment, or personnel of the <br />publicly owned treatment works (POTW), or that interferes with any <br />treatment process. <br />o. Noxious or malodorous liquids, gases, solids, or other wastewater which, <br />either singly or by interaction with other wastes, are sufficient to create a <br />public nuisance or a hazard to life, or to prevent entry into the sewers for <br />maintenance or repair. <br />p. Sludges, screenings, or other residues from the pretreatment of industrial <br />wastes. <br />q. Medical Wastes, except as specifically authorized by the Director. <br />r. Wastewater causing, alone or in conjunction with other sources, the <br />POTW's effluent to fail a toxicity test. <br />s. Materials which exert or cause: <br />i. Unusual concentrations of inert suspended solids (S.S.) (such as, but <br />not limited to, Fullers earth, lime slurries and lime residues) or of <br />dissolved solids (such as, but not limited to, sodium chloride and <br />sodium sulfate). <br />ii. Excessive discoloration (such as, but not limited to, dye wastes and <br />vegetable tanning solutions). <br />iii. Unusual S.S., CBOD, BOD, ammonia -nitrogen, phosphorus, or <br />chlorine requirements in such quantities as to constitute a significant <br />load on the sewage treatment works. <br />iv. Unusual volume of flow or concentration of wastes constituting <br />"slugs," as defined herein. <br />t. Waters or wastes containing substances which are not amenable to <br />treatment or reduction by the sewage treatment processes employed, or are <br />amenable to treatment only to such degree that the sewage treatment plant <br />effluent will be compromised. <br />u. It shall be unlawful for any permittee to place, deposit, permit to be <br />deposited, or discharged in any manner whatsoever, any substance into a <br />15 <br />
