<br />received and there beigg no net damages and no net benefits, upon motion
<br />made, seconded -and unanimously carried, the assessment roll was approved.
<br />Final confirmation of the Vacation Resolution is postponed pending
<br />dedication of cul de sac as a public right of way.
<br />HEARING ON ASSESSMENT ROLL - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3281 - ROBERT H. THOMPSON JR.
<br />This being the date set, hearing was held on assessment roll in Vacation
<br />Resolution No. 3281, being for the vacation of;
<br />The first alley south of Van Buren Street, from Allen
<br />Street to the first north -south alley east of Allen Street.
<br />Proofs of publication in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri County News on
<br />May 30, June 6 and June 13, 1969, were read and found to be sufficient. No
<br />remonstrances having been filed and no remonstrators having appeared, and there
<br />being no net damages and no net benefits, upon motion made, seconded and
<br />unanimously carried, the assessment roll was approved, and said Vacation
<br />Resolution is finally adopted and the proceedings closed and the property
<br />declared vacated.
<br />REQUEST TO BURN TREES AND UNDERGROWTH
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved, upon
<br />the recommendation of the Hire Department, the request of Harry H. Verkler,
<br />Contractor, 645 N. Wilber Street, South Bend, Indiana, to burn small trees
<br />and undergrowth on a three and a half acre tract being cleared by them in the
<br />700 block of Rose Street, upon condition that the burning shall be done under
<br />the supervision of the Fire Department.
<br />REQUEST TO SELL NEWSPAPERS - KIWANIS CLUB
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, then Board approved the re-
<br />quest of William R. Rasmussen, 1969 Kiwanis Newspaper Chairman, Main and
<br />Washington Streets, South Bend, for the Kiwanis Club to sell newspapers on
<br />the downtown streets September 13, 1969, commencing at noon.
<br />STATE BOARD OF ACCOUNTS - FIELD EXAMINER'S REPORT - COUNTY -CITY BUILDING
<br />A copy of Field Examiner's Report of Examination of County Auditor, County -City
<br />Building, St. Joseph County, Indiana, for the period i/l/66 to 12/31/68, was
<br />filed with the Board and, upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried,
<br />was referred to the City Controller for review, and for report if necessary.

<br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3273, 1969 - being for the improverent of
<br />Fremont Street, from Washington Street to Lawton Street, by construct-
<br />ing a Class C pavement with curbs.
