<br />TAXICAB LICENSE - WILLIAM E. COOPER
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the application of William
<br />E. Cooper for an additional taxicab was tabled until a certificate of public
<br />convenience and necessity is issued to the Courtesy Cab Company.
<br />REQUEST OF MRS. MARTHA WHITE TO HOLD STREET SERVICES
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request of
<br />Mrs. Martha White, 931 W. LaSalle Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, to hold street
<br />services in front of 931 W. LaSalle Avenue from 4:00 P. M. to 5:00 P.M.
<br />on Wednesdays and Thursdays during the summer months commencing July 1, 1970.1
<br />CONTRACT WITH ARCHITECT SIGNED - FIRE STATION AT IRELAND ROAD AND LAFAYETTE
<br />It was moved, seconded and carried, that the Board of Public Works and Safety
<br />enter into an agreement (Form 97 of the, Indiana State Board of Accounts) with
<br />Mathews, Purucker and Associates, Inc., 812 Jefferson Boulevard, Indiana, for
<br />the design of a fire station to be constructed at Ireland Road and Lafayette
<br />Boulevard, being the relocation of Station #10. Mr. Crumpacker abstained
<br />from voting.
<br />CONTRACT AWARDED - IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3311 - ALLEY BETWEEN INGLEWOOD
<br />PLACE AND HOLLYWOOD PLACE
<br />In the matter of the improvement of the alley between Inglewood Place and
<br />Hollywood Place, from Woodlawn to Oakwood, by constructing a Class C, Type 1
<br />concrete pavement.
<br />Clyde E. Williams and Associates, Inc., having examined the bids submitted to
<br />the Board on June 22, 1970, reports that the Pulley Construction Company, Inc.,
<br />has the lowest and best bid for Class C, Type 1, concrete pavement and recommends
<br />that the said alley be paved with Class C, Type 9 pavement.
<br />The Board, being duly advised, decides that the bid of Valley Construction
<br />Company, Inc., is the lowest and best bid received
<br />and, upon motion made,
<br />seconded and unanimously carried, contract is awarded to Valley Construction Company,
<br />Inc., for the pavement of said alley with Class C, Type 1 concrete, on its bid
<br />of $11,340.00, and said Valley Construction -Company is given notice to proceed
<br />with the pavement of said alley.
<br />EASEMENT FILED - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3308 - DONALD.F. HICKEY
<br />In the matter of the vacation of the north -south alley lying between Lots 2
<br />and 4 of Chapin's Subdivision of Bank Out Lot 182, running south from the
<br />south line of Lincolnway West to the southeast corner of Lot 2 and the south-
<br />west corner of Lot 4 of Chapin's Subdivision.
<br />Donald F. Hickey files with the Board an easement over the following
<br />described land:
<br />Beginning at a point on the west line of Lot 1 of Chapin's Sub-
<br />division of Bank Out Lot 182 at a distance of 118.35 feet south
<br />of the northwest corner of Lot 1; thence south 14 feet; thence
<br />southeasterly 51 feet to the southeast corner of Lot 2 of Chapin's
<br />Subdivision; thence northeasterly 16 feet along the southeasterly
<br />line of Lot 2; thence northwesterly 57 feet to the place of be-
<br />ginning.
<br />and said easement being approved by the. -Board, the City Engineer is directed
<br />to prepare an assessment roll showing net benefits and damages.

<br />This being the date set for hearing on the assessment roll showing the award
<br />of damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of the vacation of
<br />Phillipa Street, from the north line of Indiana Avenue extending north 106
<br />feet to an unused alley, as shown on the recorded plat of South Bend In-
<br />dustrial Addition, the Clerk tendered proofs of publication in the south
<br />Bend Tribune and the Tri County News on June 5, June 12 and June 19, 1970
<br />which were found to be proper.
