423 <br />�I <br />8/21/72 <br />COMPLAINTS OF WEEDS FROM HEALTH DEPARTMENT <br />A notice was received from the Health Department that they have sent notices <br />to the following properties about the condition of weeds on vacant lots, and <br />have received no response:: <br />Ist lot east of 2929 Bonds Avenue <br />136 East Keasey <br />1113 East Dayton <br />1222 E. Donald <br />From Miami to Marine Street back of1100 block Lincoln Way East <br />Penn -Central Right of Way between Leer and Vernon <br />Lot behind 1245 Echo Drive <br />1st Lot East of 5914 S. Gothan <br />1 lot south of 1129 St. Louis Boulevard <br />3 lots across the street from 1206 King Street <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried the above was referred to the Legal <br />department for appropriate action. <br />BEALE STREET RESIDENTS REMONSTRATE <br />A group of residents from Beale Street, including Walter Dorn, 627 Bede . <br />Street; Robert Aldridge, 637 Beale Street and Mrs. Lorraine Alwine, 730 <br />Beale Street, appeared before the Board to remonstrate about their pay- <br />ments for the sewer on their street. They complained that a groupd who <br />had filed suit against the city had their assessments reduced, and feel they should <br />have the same treatment. Mr. Sweeney explained to them the Board did not <br />have the power to reduce their payments and their only recourse was to obtain <br />a lawyer to see if they had a case against the city. <br />LETTER FROM REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION <br />The following letter was presented by Lloyd Taylor, Executive Director <br />of the Redevelopment Commission: <br />18 August, 1972 <br />Board of Public Works <br />1300 County City Building <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Attention: William J. Richardson <br />Gentlemen: <br />According to temporary building permit issued to Royal Inns Corporation for <br />the downtown project, their address will be 316 South St. Joseph Street. <br />We feel some determination should be made by the Board where Michigan Street <br />addresses end, where St. Joseph Street addresses begin again and at what <br />point Michigan Street starts again. <br />The vacated street that will become the Pedestrain Way (Mali) will also <br />require some clarification for.address purposes. <br />Sincerely, <br />s/ Lloyd S.
