C222 2/28/72 CONTRACTS FOR ENGINEERING AND INSPECTION SERVIES - IND. PROJECT R-66 The following letter was read by the Board: February 22, 1972 Board of Public Works and Safety Room 1312 County City Building South Bend, Indiana Gentlemen: Attached, you will find three contracts for engineering and inspection services on Indiana Project R-66, Phase 1.1-13, Contract 1, Part A and B; Contract 2, Part C; and Demolition Contract 23-C, Items 24 through 28. 1 believe that these contracts are now in the form that I discussed with City Engineer, Mr. William J. Richardson. If you could approve these contracts at your regular meeting, Monday, February 28, and return them to us, I will present them to our Redevel- opment Commission at their regular meeting of March 3, 1972. LETTER - RE: HARBOR HOMES The following letter was read by the Board: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS February 22, 1972 Board of Public Works and Safety City of South Bend, South Bend, Indiana Subject: Harbor Homes - Acceptance of Streets and Utilities Gentlemen: 11have reviewed the file on the Harbor Homes project in the City of South Bend. The construction inspectors and engineers for the City of South Bend have recommended that the streets and sewers in question be accepted into the network of South Bend. Due to the inability of the contractor, Consolidated Negro Contractors, Inc., to post a three year Maintenance Bond, I would recommend the following action by the Board pursuant to final acceptance: The filing of a Waiver of Lein by the Consolidated Negro Contractors, Inc., In order to show that there are no leins posted against the mitterial or labor used in the construction of these utilities.
