243 4 <br />2/7/72 <br />LETTER FROM ROBERT MOO - DIAGONAL PARKING <br />The following letter was presented to the Board: <br />February 4, 1972 <br />Board of Public Works and Safety <br />Municipal City of South Bemd <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />Mrs. Moo and myself are the owners of the real estate at the commonly <br />known address of 3101 Lincoln Way West, in the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana, wherein we have operated a restaurant for many years last <br />past. We have been permitted diagonal parking which served our patrons, <br />as well as other individuals using the area for parking, and have <br />not disturbed the progress of traffic on Lincoln Way West. <br />It has come to our attention that there is an intent to do away <br />with diagonal parking and not -permit us to have the use of this <br />facility, which is most important. <br />We therefore respectfully request your Board to assist us in making <br />an order permitting the continuance of diagonal parking, or rezoning, <br />or whatever legal requirement is necessary. <br />Thanking you for the courtesy of permitting us to submit this letter, <br />and we will be available for further clarification at your request. <br />Very truly yours, <br />s/ Robert Moo <br />s/ Eunice Moo <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board referred the <br />letter to the Engineering Department to contact Mr. Moo and make a further <br />investigation and recommendation. <br />WEIGHTS AND -MEASURES REPORT <br />Mr. Bert Cichowicz, City Sealer, presented his report for the month of <br />January to the Board. Upon motion made, seconded and carried the Board <br />approved the report and ordered it filed. <br />CITY CONTROLLER TO ATTEND IBM SCHOOL IN SAN JOSE CALIFORNIA <br />Upon motion made, seconded, and unanimously carried the Board approved the <br />request of James Barcome, City Controller, to attend the IBM School in San <br />Jose, California, February 21 through 25, 1972. <br />AWARD OF BIDS FOR CARS FOR BUILDING DEPARTMENT <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board awarded the bid for <br />cars for the Building Department to Freeman -Spicer Company, Inc., on their <br />low bid of $7,540.00 for four (4) 1972 Plymouth Valiant Duster 2 Door Sedans. <br />EXCAVATION BOND - HERMAN F. GLASER CONSTRUCTION COMPANY <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried the Board approved the Exvacatti:on <br />bond of Herman F. Glaser to February 16, 1972 <br />CONTINUATION CERTIFICATE <br />Upon motion, made, seconded and carried the Board approved the continuation <br />of an Excavation Bond for Earl Handley d/b/a Handley Plumbing Service to lIZ 8/72. <br />
