2 02. <br />2/7/7-2 <br />Upon motion made, .seconded and carried, the Board referred the above <br />matter to the Engineering Department for study and the preparation of a <br />purchase order. <br />LETTER FROM MARION HAMILTON & SON, INC. - USE OF STREET WASTEWATER EQUIPMENT <br />The following letter was received: <br />February 4, 1972 <br />City of South Bend, Indiana <br />Attentiop: Mr. Dave Wells and the Board of Public Works and Safety <br />Gentlemen: <br />In regards to 'the City of South Bend's Wastewarer Treatment Plan, I would <br />like to request the permission to use the east side of the north bound land <br />of Bendix Drive between the hours of 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for the express <br />purpose of unloading extremely large pieces of equipment and materials for. <br />the construction of the Treatment Plant. <br />This material will be arriving on the Chicago, South Shore track running <br />parallel to Bendix Drive. With your permission to 'use this site, I will <br />assume all responsibilities of damages which may occure in the process of <br />unloading. <br />1 will Very much -appreciate your cooperation in this matter. If this is <br />acceptable to you, may I please receive your permission i.n a letter form at <br />your earliest possible convenience. I must provide this letter to the <br />Railroad before this action can begin. Thank you. <br />DH/sm <br />Respectfully, <br />MARION HAMILTON & SON, INC. <br />s/ Doulas Hamilton <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried the Board approved .the <br />above request subject to the following recommendations. If these recomm- <br />endations are not following permission will be withdrawn-immed.iate.ly.. .The <br />Clerk was directed to write Marion Hamilton & Son, Inc. informing them of <br />the recommendation. <br />1. The Traffic -Engineering Division shall be notified 24 hours <br />in advance of the time of occupancy for the purpose of <br />providing the proper warning signs. <br />2. The use of the roadway is to be the curb lane only and <br />other equipment used to transfer the pipe, etc., is not <br />to interfere with the remaining lanes of traffic. <br />3. The use of the roadway will be allowed between the hours of <br />9:00 A.M. and 2:30 P.M. The roadway must be clear of all <br />equipment by -3:00 P.M. <br />4. In addition to the signage erected by this Division, the <br />Contractor must protect and mark his vehicles as,required <br />by law, (i.e.) flashers, flags. <br />Clem F.
