REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 13, 1976 <br />for recommending that six intersections be deleted. Mr. Wadzinski <br />said the intersections are multi-laned, heavily travelled intersections <br />and the activity would interrupt traffic flow as well as cause a <br />safety hazard. There was a discussion regarding the request and <br />any adverse effects the event might have. Mr. Brunner said rather <br />than approve some of the intersections requested and delete some <br />he would recommend that all the intersections be approved and that <br />a release of liability be requested from the Kiwanis Club. Mr. Brunner <br />made a motion that the Board approve the list of intersections <br />requested by the Kiwanis Club for their newspaper sale on September <br />25, with the stipulation that a release of liability be executed by <br />the appropriate officer of the Kiwanis Club and, further, that such <br />release of liability contain language requiring those engaged in <br />the paper sale to limit.their activities. to the sidewalk and not <br />the intersections. The motion was seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried. <br />REQUEST FOR MOOSE LODGE CANDY SALE OCTOBER 3 AND 4 APPROVED <br />The Board received a request from.the Moose Lodge to conduct a candy <br />sale for the benefit of the Kidney Foundation on October 3 and 4 at <br />a list of intersections submitted. Upon motion made by Mr. Brunner, <br />seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board approved the list of <br />intersections requested by the Moose Lodge for their candy sale on <br />October 3 and 4 with the stipulation that a release of liability be <br />executed by the appropriate officer of the Moose Lodge and, further, <br />that such release of liability contain language requiring those <br />engaged in the candy sale to limit their activities to the sidewalk <br />and not the intersections. <br />Mr. Farrand asked Mr. Wadzinski to prepare a report on accident <br />incidence at those intersections on the Saturday before the sale, <br />the day of the sale and the Saturday following the sale to determine <br />the impact of such activities on the accident rate and traffic <br />control. <br />REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR SALT AND LIQUID CALCIUM CHLORIDE <br />Mr. Farrand requested permission from the Board to advertise for <br />the City's requirements for salt and liquid calcium chloride for <br />the coming year. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. <br />Brunner and carried, the Board authorized the advertising for bids <br />with sealed bids to be received on September 27, 1976. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, upon motion <br />made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the meeting <br />adjourned at 11:15 a.m. <br />OP <br />/ _ <br />,�� �.. •lit./ii./. <br />eter Jri.
