REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 13, 1976 <br />argument for the Mack truck rather than -the Ward LaFrance and, <br />based on the Chief's recommendation, he would support it. <br />Mr. Farrand made a motion that the Board accept the bid of Michiana <br />Mack for one 1250 G.P.11Z. pumper at a total -bid price of $68,594.00. <br />Mr. Brunner seconded the motion and it carried. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 29 ADOPTED - SALE OF OBSOLETE LADDER <br />The Board received a request from Fire Chief Oscar. Van Wiele to <br />dispose of a hydraulic ladder which is obsolete and for which they <br />have received an offer to purchase. Upon motion made by Mr.•Farrand, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the following resolution was <br />adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 29, 1976 <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public Works of the <br />City of South Bend and the Fire Chief of the City of South Bend <br />that a certain Stahl Hydraulic Ladder is obsolete, and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 186, ACts of 1967, of the Indiana General Assembly <br />permits the sale of personal property no longere needed or obsolete; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of the <br />City of South Bend that this Stahl Hydraulic Ladder is obsolete and <br />not needed by the City of South Bend. <br />BE IT, FURTHER, RESOLVED that said hydraulic ladder be sold at <br />private sale to the South Bend Community School Corporation at a <br />purchase price of $400.00. <br />Adopted this 13th day of September, 1976. <br />.BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />s/ -Rollin E. Nemeth <br />Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />s/ Patricia DeClercq, Clerk <br />AUCTION OF BICYCLES AND UNCLAINED PROPERTY APPROVED <br />The Board received a request from Chief Michael Borkowski to hold <br />an auction of bicycles and unclaimed property on Saturday, <br />September 25, 1976 at 10:00 a.m, at the Municipal Services Facility, <br />701 W. Sample Street. All proceeds from the auction will go into <br />the Police Pension Fund as authorized by State Statute. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the requests were approved. <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY <br />The Board received an inquiry from Robert Dunbar, McNulty & Dunbar, <br />Inc., regarding the possible purchase of city -owned lots at 614 S. <br />Columbia, 424 E. South, 316 E. South, 621 S. Columbia, 606 S. Carroll <br />and 721-725 S. Fellows. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by <br />Mr. Brunner and carried, the request was filed and referred to the <br />Department of Engineering, Parks, Redevelopment and to Dr. George Wing <br />for review of the lots to see whether they should be retained for any <br />purpose. <br />
