290 REGULAR MEETING JULY 11. 1983 APPROVE RELEASE OF MECHANIC'S LIEN Mr. Leszczynski advised that a Release of Mechanic's Lien was being presented to the Board for approval. The Release of Mechanic's Lien certifies that the indebtedness secured by a Mechanic's Lien created by the _recording of a Sworn Statement and Notice of Mechanic's Lien executed by Jackson Wrecking Company to .James J. Bowker and Judy E. Bowker dated March 8, 1977 and subsequently assigned by Jackson Wrecking Company to the City of South Bend, Indiana on March 21, 1977 has been fully paid and satisfied and the same is hereby released. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above Release of Mechanic's Lien was approved and executed. APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - CUSHING STREET IMPROVEMENTS (NHS) 'PROJECT In a letter to the Board, Mr. Neil A. Shanahan, Manager, Bureau of Public Construction requested permission to advertise for receipt of bidsforthe above referred to project. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was approved. APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - CAR WASHES FOR CITY VEHICLES In a letter to the Board, Chief of Police Dan D. Thompson, requested permission to advertise for receipt of bids for car washes for City vehicles. Mr. Leszczynski advised that City cars involved are Police Department vehicles as well as other 24-hour vehicles. However,.tak.e home vehicles are not included. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was approved. APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - DE-ICING MATERIALS FOR STREET DEPARTMENT In a letter to the Board, Mr. Sean Watt, Director, Division of Transportation, requested permission to advertise for receipt of bids for the following materials: 12,000 tons or less or.Sodium Chloride (Rock Salt) 5,000 tons or less or Calcium Chloride Sand 5,000 tons or less of Calcium Chloride Slag Sand 100,000 gallons or less of Liquid Calcium Chloride Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was approved. APPROVE RECOMMENDATION TO REJECT BIDS FOR TANDEM AXLE CAB & CHASSIS (STREET DEPARTMENT) In a letter to the Board, Mr. Sean Watt, Director, Division of Transportation, recommended that bids received on May 2, 1983 for the above referred to equipment be rejected due to lack of funding. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above recommendation was approved. APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - GEYER CONSTRUCTION & DEVELOPMENT COMPANY - MONROE PARK PHASE IV - CURB AND LANDSCAPING IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT Mr. Leszczynski advised that in accordance with the bid awarded today to Geyer Construction and Development Company, 67475 Kenilworth Road, Lakeville, Indiana, in the amount.of $22,460.50 for the above referred to project, a contract in said amount was being submitted for Board approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the contract was approved subject to the filing of the required insurance, Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment Bond.
