290 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 11. 1983 <br />APPROVE RELEASE OF MECHANIC'S LIEN <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that a Release of Mechanic's Lien was <br />being presented to the Board for approval. The Release of <br />Mechanic's Lien certifies that the indebtedness secured by a <br />Mechanic's Lien created by the _recording of a Sworn Statement <br />and Notice of Mechanic's Lien executed by Jackson Wrecking <br />Company to .James J. Bowker and Judy E. Bowker dated March 8, <br />1977 and subsequently assigned by Jackson Wrecking Company to <br />the City of South Bend, Indiana on March 21, 1977 has been <br />fully paid and satisfied and the same is hereby released. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill <br />and carried, the above Release of Mechanic's Lien was approved <br />and executed. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - <br />CUSHING STREET IMPROVEMENTS (NHS) 'PROJECT <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Neil A. Shanahan, Manager, Bureau <br />of Public Construction requested permission to advertise for <br />receipt of bidsforthe above referred to project. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the <br />above request was approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - <br />CAR WASHES FOR CITY VEHICLES <br />In a letter to the Board, Chief of Police Dan D. Thompson, requested <br />permission to advertise for receipt of bids for car washes for <br />City vehicles. Mr. Leszczynski advised that City cars involved <br />are Police Department vehicles as well as other 24-hour vehicles. <br />However,.tak.e home vehicles are not included. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above <br />request was approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - <br />DE-ICING MATERIALS FOR STREET DEPARTMENT <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Sean Watt, Director, Division of <br />Transportation, requested permission to advertise for receipt <br />of bids for the following materials: <br />12,000 tons or less or.Sodium Chloride (Rock Salt) <br />5,000 tons or less or Calcium Chloride Sand <br />5,000 tons or less of Calcium Chloride Slag Sand <br />100,000 gallons or less of Liquid Calcium Chloride <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above request was approved. <br />APPROVE RECOMMENDATION TO REJECT BIDS FOR TANDEM AXLE <br />CAB & CHASSIS (STREET DEPARTMENT) <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Sean Watt, Director, Division of <br />Transportation, recommended that bids received on May 2, 1983 <br />for the above referred to equipment be rejected due to lack <br />of funding. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Mr. Hill and carried, the above recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - GEYER CONSTRUCTION & DEVELOPMENT <br />COMPANY - MONROE PARK PHASE IV - CURB AND LANDSCAPING <br />IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that in accordance with the bid awarded <br />today to Geyer Construction and Development Company, 67475 <br />Kenilworth Road, Lakeville, Indiana, in the amount.of $22,460.50 <br />for the above referred to project, a contract in said amount was <br />being submitted for Board approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the contract was <br />approved subject to the filing of the required insurance, <br />Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment Bond. <br />
