Hurley advised <br />that after careful study of the bids received for ten (10) or more <br />Detective Bureau squad cars, it is the recommendation of the <br />Police Department that the bid be awarded to Thomas Dodge of <br />Orland Park, 14200 LaGrange Road, Orland Park, Illinois. It was <br />noted that bids for these vehicles were opened on June 17, 1985. <br />The Police Department would like to purchase ten (10) 1984 Ford <br />LTD 4-doors with 29,000 to 36,000 miles at a unit price of <br />$6,497.00 and three (3) 1984 Chevrolet Celebrity 4-doors with <br />24,000 to 31,000 miles at a unit price of $6,997.00. These <br />vehicles are currently in service as rentals with Hertz Rent-A-Car <br />Chicago O'Hare. <br />The Chevrolets are being purchased in an effort to determine the <br />feasibility of using front wheel drive autos as Detective Bureau <br />vehicles. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and <br />carried, the recommendation was accepted and the bid awarded. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - NHS CURB AND <br />SIDEWALK REPAIR 1985 PROJECT <br />In a letter to the Board, Neil Shanahan, Manager, Bureau of <br />Public Construction requested that the Board advertise for the <br />receipt of bids for the above referred to project.
