REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 18, 1986 <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - SALE OF <br />ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq, Director, Department of Code <br />Enforcement, requested permission to advertise for the sale of <br />approximately fifteen (15) abandoned vehicles, which are being <br />stored at Steve & Gene's Auto & Truck Salvage and Repair, 3109 <br />South Gertrude Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that <br />all vehicles have been stored more than fifteen (15) days, <br />identification checks had been run for auto theft and the owners <br />and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, <br />seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above request was approved <br />and a date of December 9, 1986 was established for the receiving <br />and opening of sealed bids. <br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 (FINAL) AND PROJECT COMPLETION <br />AFFIDAVIT - WASHINGTON, JEFFERSON AND THOMAS STREETS CURB AND <br />WALK REPAIRS PROJECT <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Murdock & Sons Construction, Inc., <br />1320 South Franklin Street, South Bend, Indiana, has submitted <br />Change Order No. 1 (Final) indicating that the contract amount <br />for the above referred to project be increased by $7,902.43 for a <br />new contract sum including this Change Order in the amount of <br />$79,621.93. Additionally submitted was the Project Completion <br />Affidavit indicating this new final cost. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, Change <br />Order No. 1 (Final) and the Project Completion Affidavit were <br />approved and the appropriate three-year Maintenance Bond as <br />submitted was accepted for filing. <br />APPROVE TITLE SHEET - FARMINGTON SQUARE - UNIT 10 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Title Sheet for the above <br />referred to project was being presented at this time for <br />execution. He advised that the project entails the installation <br />of water mains and sanitary sewers with the cost of installation <br />to be paid by the developer. Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, <br />seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the above referred to <br />Title Sheet was approved and signed. <br />REQUEST OF BENDIX AIRCRAFT BRAKE & STRUT AND ENERGY CONTROLS <br />DIVISIONS FOR WARRANT STUDY FOR INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC LIGHTS - <br />REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Burl Walters, Plant Engineer, <br />Bendix Aircraft Brake & Strut Division, 3520 West Westmoor <br />Street, P.O. Box 10, South Bend, Indiana, requested a warrant <br />study be made for the purpose of installation of traffic lights <br />at the following locations adjacent to the Bendix plant: <br />1. <br />Westmoor Street <br />at <br />the entrance <br />to Gate 9A. <br />2. <br />Westmoor Street <br />at <br />the entrance <br />to Gate 9. <br />3. <br />Westmoor Street <br />at <br />the entrance <br />of Gate 8. <br />4. <br />Bendix Drive at <br />the <br />entrance to <br />Gate 5A. <br />Mr. Walters advised that the light at Gate 9 would be controlled <br />by pedestrian buttons on both sides of the street and a button in <br />the guard house at Gate 9. The lights at the other three (3) <br />locations would be controlled by pedestrian buttons only. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the above request was referred to the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division <br />for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST OF MICHIANA WATERSHED, INC.
