REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 12, 1986 <br />9 <br />1 <br />l <br />1 <br />1. NEW INSTALLATION, 2-HOUR PARKING, 6A/6P - 200-300 <br />S. Michigan. <br />2. REMOVAL OF STOP SIGN, 2-WAY, REVISED TO STOP SIGN, <br />4-WAY - Angela & Woodward, Temporary 4-Way Stop. <br />Effective August 8, 1986. Traffic Signals on all <br />Red Flash. (Repairs to Portage Avenue Bridge). <br />3. REMOVAL OF 1-WAY EASTBOUND, REVISED TO 2-WAY - South <br />Street between Williams and Lafayette. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT <br />A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a <br />total of one hundred fifty-four (154) properties cleaned from <br />August 1, 1986 to August 7, 1986, was submitted. Upon a motion <br />made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the <br />report as submitted was filed. <br />FILING OF NEW TAXICAB RATES - ALLIED CAB COMPANY <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Walter E. Jones, Owner, Allied Cab <br />Company, 1608 North Sheridan Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, advised <br />that effective August 15, 1986, Allied Cab Company meter rates <br />will be as follows: <br />$ 2.00 Flag Drop <br />$ 1.00 Per mile <br />$12.00 Per hour waiting time <br />It was noted that pursuant to Municipal Code taxicab licensing <br />requirements, Mr. Jones submitted proofs of Notice of Publication <br />in two (2) local newspapers advising the public of the rate <br />increase. <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the rates as submitted were accepted and filed. <br />FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard <br />and carried, the Certificate of Insurance for The Robert Henry <br />Corporation, P.O. Box 1407, South Bend, Indiana, was accepted and <br />filed. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Mr. John W. Ferguson, Executive Director, St. Joseph County Job <br />Training Program submitted two (2) lists containing sixty-seven <br />(67) claims and recommended approval. Additionally, Deputy City <br />Controller Carol M. Sanders submitted Claim Docket No. 017901 <br />through Claim Docket No. 018407 and recommended approval. Upon a <br />motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the claims were approved and the reports as submitted <br />were filed. <br />CITIZEN QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS REGARDING NEW ASPHALT ROAD IN <br />SUMMERS SQUARE ADDITION <br />Mr. Joseph Guentert, 3510 Corby Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana, <br />advised the Board that a new blacktop access street off of <br />Ironwood Road, in the condominium development known as Summers <br />Square, has been torn up by trucks and he wondered if the street <br />met City standards when it was blacktopped. Mr. Leszczynski <br />advised Mr. Guentert that if the street in question is a public <br />street it will not be accepted by the City until it meets City <br />standards and stated that typically asphalt paving is the final <br />step in the completion of a project. He further stated that if <br />the developer tore up the street, the developer will have to <br />repair it. <br />
