171 L, 1 REGULAR MEETING JUNE 9, 1987 APPROVE REQUEST OF SOUTHEAST SIDE NEIGHBORHOOD FESTIVAL COMMITTEE/BROADWAY CHRISTIAN PARISH TO CLOSE 1400 BLOCK OF CARROLL STREET FOR NEIGHBORHOOD FESTIVAL - JUNE 20, 1987 The above referred to request, submitted to the Board on May 26, 1987, has been reviewed by the appropriate City departments and bureaus and recommended for approval. It was noted that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting will deliver the barricades necessary to close the street and it will be the responsibility of the Petitioner to place the barricades at the beginning of the event and remove them at the conclusion of the event. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the recommendation as received was accepted and the request approved. APPROVE REUNION TO CLOSE 200 BLOCK OF HUEY STREET FOR FAMILY Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed the above referred to request submitted to the Board on June 2, 1987 and recommend approval. The Petitioner will be responsible for the placement and removal of the barricades which will be provided by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request approved. APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT ANNUAL MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY BED RACE - JULY 5, 1987 Mr. Leszczynski advised that various City departments and bureaus have reviewed the above request submitted to the Board on June 2, 1987 and recommend approval. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request approved. APPROVE AND/OR RELEASE CONTRACTORS BONDS Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Engineering Department, recommended that the following Contractors Bonds be approved and/or released: APPROVED EFFECTIVE - Michael T. Walls 6/9/87 - Michiana Paving & Excavating Inc. 6/9/87 - Bullock Garages of Mishawaka, Ind. 6/8/87 RELEASED EFFECTIVE - H & S Construction Co., Inc. 6/9/87 Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the above Contractors Bonds were approved and/or released. FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a total of ninety-eight (98) properties cleaned from June 1, 1987 thru June 5, 1987, was submitted. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the report as submitted was filed. APPROVE CLAIMS Deputy City Controller Carol M. Sanders submitted Claim Docket No. 9356 through Claim Docket No. 9539 and recommended approval. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the claims were approved and the report filed.
