[LJ REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 26, 1990 Mr. Craft indicated that the proposed route is 8K and participants intend to utilize the sidewalks on the route and obey all traffic signals. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the request was referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation REQUEST OF MAIN STREET ROW TO OCCUPY EIGHT (8) PARKING SPACES FOR A PERIOD OF APPROXIMATELY SIX (6) MONTHS - REFERRED Mr. Robert J. Urbanski, Partner, Main Street Row Properties, P.O. Box 3188, South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to occupy the first four (4) parking spaces on the north side of Colfax west of Main Street and the first four (4) parking spaces on the west side of Main Street north of Colfax for a period of approximately six (6) months or until construction is complete for Main Street Row Properties. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the request be referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE REQUEST OF CITY AWNING TO INSTALL CANOPY AT 3003 LINCOLNWAY WEST - BRUMMERS RESTAURANT Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request which was submitted to the Board on February 5, 1990, and approval is recommended at this time. Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the request be approved. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. NO BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS ACTION REQUIRED - REQUEST OF CITY AWNING TO ERECT FIFTEEN (15) CANOPIES AT 209 NORTH MAIN STREET - MAIN STREET ROW Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request which was submitted to the Board on February 12, 1990. The review has revealed that the canopies will encroach onto the public right-of-way but that Main Street is a state highway and therefore the Board does not have the jurisdiction to act on this request as permission must be sought from the State regarding this matter. Therefore, no Board of Public Works action is required. APPROVE REQUEST OF MICHIANA WATERSHED, INC., TO CONDUCT RIVER RUN MAY 12, 1990 As the appropriate City departments and bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request which was submitted to the Board on November 20, 1989 and have recommended approval, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the recommendations be accepted and the request be approved. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. It is noted that the original request indicated that the date of the River Run would be May 14, 1990 which was in error. In a letter received on January 30, 1990, the Board was informed that the correct date for the event is May 12, 1990. APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the following two (2) traffic control devices were approved: 1.
