OPENING OF BIDS - SLUDGE E UI RENT STORAGE BUILDING (SOUTH BEND BUREAU OF WASTEWATER) AND FILING OF APPLICATION FOR BIDDER QUALIFICATION Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to project. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. Board Attorney Jenny Pitts Manier advised that the bid submitted by Ziolkowski Construction, Inc., 1005 South Lafayette, Box 1106, South Bend, Indiana, was not properly notarized and she therefore recommended that it be rejected. Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the bid be rejected as non -responsive to bidding requirements. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. The following bids were opened and publicly read: HARRY H. VERKLER, CONTRACTOR, INC. 645 Wilber Street P.O. Box 3608 South Bend, Indiana 46619 Bid was signed by Mr. Fred H. Lusk, President, Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order and a five per cent (50) Bid Bond was submitted. BID: $263,000.00 L.L. GEANS & SONS, INC. 56535 Magnetic Drive Mishawaka, Indiana 46545 Bid was signed by Rocky R. Geans, President, Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order and a five per cent (50) Bid Bond was submitted. BID: $236,859.00 The Bid form noted the following clarifications: 1. Sanitary Sewer line is stubbed out 5" beyond building line only. 2. Field painting is included for metal building red iron O.H. door, walk doors and sheetrock. No other painting is included.
