0 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 11, 1991 <br />REQUEST OF BURKHART ADVERTISING TO INSTALL ONE (1) ILLUMINATED <br />SIGN AT 2216 MIAMI STREET - REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Ronald M. Como, Service/ <br />Installation Manager, Burkhart Advertising, 1247 Mishawaka <br />Avenue, P..O. Box 536, South Bend, Indiana, requested permission <br />to install one three foot (3') by five foot (51) double face <br />internally illuminated projecting sign at 2216 Miami Street. Mr. <br />Como indicated that it appears that the building front sits on <br />the property line with the sidewalk in front. The sign would be <br />installed on the north facia of the building and would project <br />into the public right-of-way five feet (51). The height of the <br />sign will be a minimum of ten feet (101) above grade. Mr. Como <br />submitted with the request pictures of the location and a drawing <br />of the proposed sign. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the <br />request be referred to the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus for review and recommendation. Mrs. DeClercq seconded <br />the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUESTS: <br />- OF COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER TO SELL GREEN CARNATIONS FROM THE <br />SIDEWALK AT THE NORTH ENTRANCE OF THE COUNTY -CITY BUILDING - <br />MARCH 15, 1991 <br />- TO CLOSE RIVERSIDE DRIVE, BETWEEN GOLDEN AND CALIFORNIA, IN <br />CONJUNCTION WITH 5TH ANNUAL NEIGHBORHOOD EASTER EGG HUNT <br />- OF MAURICE MATTHYS LITTLE LEAGUE TO CONDUCT OPENING DAY PARADE <br />- MAY 11, 1991 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to requests which were <br />submitted to the Board on March 4, 1991, and approval is <br />recommended. <br />Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the request of the <br />Community Resource Center be approved subject to the various <br />licensing requirements. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which <br />carried. Additionally, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the <br />request to close Riverside Drive in conjunction with the <br />neighborhood annual Easter Egg Hunt be approved. Mr. Leszczynski <br />seconded the motion which carried. Finally, Mrs. DeClercq made a <br />motion that the request of Maurice Matthys Little League to <br />conduct their annual opening day parade be approved. Ms. <br />Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE TITLE SHEET - WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT SITE <br />IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Title Sheet for the above <br />referred to project was being presented at this time for <br />execution. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by <br />Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the above referred to Title Sheet was <br />approved and signed. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the following two (2) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />1. NEW INSTALLATION: No Parking Tow Zone <br />LOCATION: 224 North Main <br />REMARKS: To be installed on south side <br />of building <br />2. NEW INSTALLATION: No Parking Tow Zone <br />LOCATION: In alley east/west and north/south <br />of 225 North Main <br />
