414 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 25, 1993 <br />Additionally, Mr. Michael E. Alford, on behalf of the Northern <br />Indiana Cab Drivers Association, advised that the Association is <br />sponsoring a Walk for Peace on Thursday, October 28, 1993 <br />beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the courthouse. Mr. Alford noted that <br />participants will remain on the sidewalks at all times and will <br />proceed down Main Street to Western Avenue,.Western Avenue across <br />the bridge to Howard Park. It is noted that this request has been <br />reviewed by the Police Department, Legal Department and the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting and approval is recommended. <br />Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the above outlined <br />requests be approved. Mrs. Manier seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />APPROVE SECONDHAND DEALERS LICENSE APPLICATION <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the following secondhand dealers <br />license application has been received: <br />NAME: RUGRATS RESALE SHOP <br />BY: Sandra Jean Henderson-Burd <br />ADDRESS: 213 North Main Street <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: Secondhand clothes <br />Mr. Leszczynski further advised that favorable recommendations <br />have been received from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />Department of Code Enforcement, Police Department and Fire <br />Department concerning the above application. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the license <br />application was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's <br />office for issuance of a license. <br />APPROVE PUBLIC PARKING FACILITY LICENSE APPLICATION <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and <br />carried, the license application for AMPCO Parking, 126 North Main <br />Street, South Bend, Indiana, to operate a parking lot at 120 North <br />Main Street, South Bend, Indiana, was approved and referred to <br />the Deputy Controller's office for issuance of a license. <br />APPROVE CONTRACTORS BONDS <br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Division of Engineering, recommended that <br />the following Bonds of Contractors be approved: <br />1. <br />Walter Regan, Sr. <br />Effective <br />10-25-93 <br />2. <br />Richard Stephens <br />Effective <br />10-25-93 <br />3. <br />Rudy Rupple <br />Effective <br />10-25-93 <br />4. Bob Frame Plumbing & <br />Heating, Inc. Effective 10-25-93 <br />Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the recommendation be accepted <br />and the bonds be approved. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORTS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Department of Code Enforcement <br />has submitted two (2) lists containing one hundred eighty-nine <br />(189) City owned and miscellaneous properties which were cleaned <br />by the Department from October 3, 1993 to October 15, 1993. Mr. <br />Leszczynski made a motion that the lists as submitted be accepted <br />for filing. Mrs. Manier seconded the motion which carried. <br />
