<br />Mr. J.G. Giolitto, Casteel Construction Corporation, 23186
<br />West Ireland Road, P.O. Box 628, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />requested permission to occupy a portion of the right-of-way
<br />on Washington Street, between Michigan Avenue and St. Joseph
<br />Street, in order to perform work at the 1st Source
<br />Bank/Marriott Hotel. Mr. Giolitto indicated that this project
<br />specifically entails removal and replacement of sidewalk and
<br />curb and trees located within the right-of-way. In order to
<br />facilitate this removal and subsequent reconstruction, they
<br />will need to have construction vehicles occupy the north
<br />parking lane along Washington Street between Michigan Street
<br />and St. Joseph Street. Therefore, they are requesting
<br />permission to occupy this portion of the right-of-way during
<br />construction. This request for occupancy is for the duration
<br />of the project, which is April 1, 1993 through September 30,
<br />1993.
<br />- TO CLOSE KALORAMA STREET, FROM ST. LOUIS TO HILL STREET, FOR
<br />NEIGHBORHOOD BARBECUE AND BLOCK PARTY - APRIL 24, 1993
<br />Mr. Thomas Howell, 801 St. Louis Street, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />submitted to the Board an Application For Use Of And Blocking
<br />Of Access To Public Right -of -Way For A Party Or Similar Event,
<br />requesting that Kalorama Street, between St. Louis Street and
<br />Hill Street, be closed from 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m. on
<br />Saturday, April 24, 1993 for a neighborhood barbecue and block
<br />party.
<br />- TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT 1616 SCOTT STREET
<br />In a letter to the Board, Sterling and Carla Smith, 325 North
<br />Cushing Street, South Bend, Indiana, advised that they are
<br />interested in purchasing the City -owned property at 1616 South
<br />Scott Street.
<br />- OF OUR LADY OF HUNGARY CHURCH TO CLOSE SOUTH CHAPIN STREET,
<br />BETWEEN CALVERT AND BRUCE, IN CONJUNCTION WITH PARISH FESTIVAL
<br />- JULY 17, 1993
<br />Mr. Richard R. Gratzol, Our Lady of Hungary Church, 829 West
<br />Calvert Street, South Bend, Indiana, advised that the Church
<br />is having their annual Parish Festival on July 17, 1993.
<br />Therefore, they are requesting that South Chapin Street,
<br />between West Calvert and Bruce Street, be closed. This is to
<br />insure the safety of the festival participants. Mr. Gratzol
<br />noted that they would like the street closed from 3:30 p.m. to
<br />11:30 p.m.
<br />FILING OF REQUEST FOR PAYMENT OF SUBCONTRACTOR - SANITATION GARAGE
<br />EXPANSION & RENOVATION PROJECT
<br />Board Attorney and Member Mary H. Mueller informed members that
<br />the Board is in receipt of a letter from Mr. Glen Smith,
<br />President, Practical Construction Incorporated, 3921 West Sample
<br />Street, P.O. Box 3124, South Bend, Indiana, regarding their
<br />payment due on the above referred to project. Mrs. Mueller noted
<br />that these documents should be accepted for filing by the Board
<br />and that appropriate notice be given to the surety of the Payment
<br />Bond. It is noted that this action is pursuant to I.C. 36-1-12-
<br />13.1. Mrs. Mueller made a motion that the Board accept for filing
<br />the statement as submitted by Practical Construction Incorporated.
<br />Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried.
<br />FILING OF CERTIFICATES OF INSURANCE
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell
<br />and carried, the following Certificates of Insurance were accepted
<br />for filing:
