Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION FOR "MARCHATHON" <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations from the Police <br />Department, Division of Engineering and the Park Department for a request from Susan Lofquist, <br />Riley High School Marching Band, to hold a "Marchathon" on Saturday, November 19, 1994, <br />beginning at 9:00 a.m., subject to an Indemnification Agreement. Upon a motion made by Mrs. <br />Manier, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the request was approved. <br />APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - HAMILTON STREET SEWER EXTENSION - HRP <br />CONSTRUCTION - PROJECT NO. 94-73 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that in accordance with the bid awarded on October 24, 1994, to HRP <br />Construction, Inc., Post Office Box 266, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $17,871.00 for the <br />above referred to project, a Contract in said amount was being submitted for Board approval. Upon <br />a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the Contract was <br />approved and the appropriate Certificate of Insurance, Performance Bond and Labor and Materials <br />Payment Bond as submitted were filed. <br />REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS <br />- SODIUM CHLORIDE - 12.000 TONS; CALCIUM CHLORIDE SLAG SAND - 5.000 TONS: <br />AND CALCIUM CHLORIDE SLAG/SAND/SALT MIX - 5,000 TONS - STREET <br />DEPARTMENT <br />- AUTOMATIC WEAPONS - POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of requests to advertise for the above referred <br />to items. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the <br />requests were approved. <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE FENCING ON CITY -OWNED PROPERTY <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that the Board is in receipt of a request from Mr. Bruce L. Gordon, 1128 N. <br />Lafayette, South Bend, Indiana, to purchase a thirty (30) foot section of iron fence located at 1505 <br />S. Catalpa, which is a City -owned lot. Further, Mr. Gordon wishes to purchase this fencing in the <br />amount of one hundred ($100.00) dollars. Additionally, Mr. Gordon indicated that he will remove <br />the fence and haul it away for the above referred to sum. Mrs. Manier made a motion that the request <br />be referred to the appropriate Bureaus for recommendation. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion <br />which carried. <br />
