n,C% REGULAR MEETING MARCH 8, 1999 APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - SUNBURST MARATHON Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Traffic / and Lighting, Police Department, Park Department, and the City Attorney's Office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Liz Peralta, Memorial Hospital, 615 North Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to Sunburst Marathon on June 5, 1999, on the designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Powell, the recommendation was approved. APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATIONS - SECOND-HAND DEALER Mr. Caldwell stated that the following secondhand dealers licevse-applications have been received: Fred Romine Indiana Furniture 742 West Indiana Avenue Linda Osowski Lots 4 Tots .1621 Miami Street Mr. Caldwell further advised that favorable recommendations have been received from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, Department ofCode Enforcement, Police Department and Fire Department concerning the above applications. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the above license applications were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance of a license. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATIONS - RUBBISH AND GARBAGE REMOVAL SERVICE Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Department of Code Enforcement, in reference to requests as submitted by the following businesses. In addition, the Bureau of Sanitation has inspected the vehicles) to_ be used in conjunction with these businesses, and has found them to be satisfactory: Ray Garbaciak Superior -Waste 20645 West Ireland Road - Systems _ Stephen Meyer BFI Waste Systems 57820 Charlotte Avenue, Elkhart, of North America, Indiana Inc.
